SONIC ROOM operates through the logic of the library, not the logic of the session.
A library is a permanent infrastructure. It is open during regular hours. It organizes materials for discovery and navigation. It serves whoever walks through the door — no appointment necessary, no practitioner required, no predetermined outcome.
This model offers particular freedoms. The visitor chooses their own duration. They may stay for twenty minutes or three hours. They may return next hour, or tomorrow, or next month, building familiarity with the archive across multiple visits.
The library model also implies curatorial responsibility. SONIC ROOM's value lies not in generating infinite variation but in exercising judgment by selecting, organizing, contextualizing. Scarcity and selection are features, not limitations.
